Fortuna seals Blackwater's third win over Air21-JRU

With the game hanging in the balance, pint-sized point guard Jeric Fortuna came up big down the stretch to seal the deal for Blackwater Sports.
Fortuna scored eight points in the fourth, with four coming in the final three minutes of the game to assure Blackwater its 75-72 win against the Air21-JRU Heavy Bombers in the PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup Monday at the San Juan Arena.
Fortuna had an open jumper with three minutes to spare to give Blackwater a three-point cushion, as JRU stuck like glue to the Elite throughout the game.
The UST floor general finished with 10 points to become one of six Elite scorers in double figures.
Gio Ciriacruz paced Blackwater with 15 points, 11 in the second half, while Justin Chua and Robby Celiz each had 14. Allan Mangahas and Kevin Ferrer also chipped in 11 and 10, respectively.
"Gusto kong manalo," said Blackwater Coach Leo Isaac. Gusto ko mabuo sa kanila ’yung winning habit and attitude. Gusto ko mabuo ’yung competitiveness at confidence."
Dexter Maiquez led the Bombers with 15 points while Jeckster Apinan had 12.
With the win, Blackwater is now tied with the Cagayan Valley Rising Suns in a 3-1 win-loss slate, good for third place in the standings.
Blackwater has won three straight games after their loss to the Big Chill Superchargers in their debut. JRU meanwhile dropped to 1-3. J
