Obliviate
Jan Eidrienne R. De Luis
The Journalese
Tell me, am I dreaming? Have they gone mad or have I? Is this heaven?
In that instant, Ferdinand battle his tears.
“All this isn’t real, my fairy? It isn’t real right?”
The fairy pressed her hand in Ferdinand’s head, suppressing her sorrow.
“Ferdinand, I am sorry to say. They’ve gone entirely bonkers. The curse cannot be reversed. No spell can counter oblivion.”
In that instant, Ferdinand knew what will happen. And to lessen his sorrow he knew exactly what to ask.
“My dear fairy, can I ask you one last favor before I go to sleep?”
“What then Ferdinand? Not another silly thing.” the fairy answered.
Ferdinand whispered. “No my dear fairy, I know this is insane. But could you put oblivion on me?”
The fairy gasp. “Not on you, Ferdinand. No not on you!”
“This is the smartest choice my dear fairy, for what better way to you avenge yourself if you’ve been forgotten but to lose your memory too.” Ferdinand sighed.
With a wave. He muttered.
“Now tell me, have I gone mad? Have I forgotten something? Am I dreaming?” J
